Intervention

Service Description

The initial session will be a meeting where a plan of action for the intervention will take place. One lead member and other members of the intervention team will be present and they will be given a one hour education on the progressive diseases of alcoholism, drug addiction, and other addictions/mental illnesses. The initial meeting will be one hour where the plan for the upcoming intervention will be formalized and any questions/concerns will be answered. The lead member of the intervention team will be instructed to have other members of the intervention write heartfelt letters to the person with the substance use disorder and the plan of action will be relayed to the other members of the intervention. The intervention will last one hour or less depending on the participation of the addict/alcoholic. The goal will be to have the addict enter into inpatient treatment, outpatient treatment, or attend recovery support meetings while maintaining complete sobriety and/abstinence from the particular addiction. The final hour will be a follow-up after the actual intervention where questions and concerns will be addressed and a final plan of action put into place for the family and other loved ones.
